PSG Champions League Preview

Sunday will certainly be a day like no other for many associated with Paris Saint-Germain, as the French behemoths square off against Bayern Munich for the grandest prize in club football.

The two giants of European football will go up against one another at the Estadio da Luz as they aim to be crowned winners of the 2019/20 edition of the Champions League.

Indeed, whilst the Germans will be experiencing the occasion for the 11th time in their history, the Parisians will be tasting their first-ever final in the competition and one that they will want to win to further solidify their place as one of Europe’s great clubs.

Due to the history, PSG are perhaps considered underdogs unfairly, however for those players who like to place a wager on the action, a site like Betiton could be perfect for you. Betiton is a true gambling mega brand that will allow players to bet on several verticals. The brand offers 3 gambling products on a single site: a casino, live casino and a sports book and you can access the site here.

Thomas Tuchel’s feelings

Thomas Tuchel has already been speaking about the upcoming occasion and has admitted he has found it difficult to describe how he is feeling ahead of the tie. However, he has insisted that his team will be prepared and that preparation will not be any different to other matches that they have played leading up to the final.

“My feelings are very hard to describe, even in English. Very hard to describe. From totally exhausted to totally happy. At the same time, staying focused because the trip is not over. We have a final to play in, which we absolutely want to win. Stay calm, stay cool, and try to prepare for it like any other game. Don’t do special stuff; the game is special itself, so why should we overload it with videos, with speeches, with motivation?” he told UEFA’s official site.

PSG’s form heading into the final

PSG have been in good form in the 2019/20 Champions League and have been able to record some strong results in their quest to lift their first title in the competition.

There is an argument that they have had an easier route to the grand spectacle, however they have still had to be at their best. The Parisian’s managed to dispatch the likes of Atalanta BC and Red Bull Leipzig following the resumption of the competition in order to play the final at the Estadio da Luz.

The Champions League final could be even more important for Thiago Silva, as there are recent reports suggesting that he could be departing the club in the summer. The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move to Italy and to England, with the likes of Fiorentina and Chelsea both thought to be just a number of clubs interested in acquiring him.

The 35-year-old has been an important component for Tuchel this season in the Champions League, as he has managed to provide his team with an average of 1.4 tackles, 1.5 interceptions and 4.1 clearances in the eight appearances he has made (per WhoScored).

If Thiago Silva plays as well as he is expected to, PSG could be within a chance of winning the Champions League for the first time in their history and potentially provide him with a send-off befitting of the service he has provided them over the years.

Don’t forget about Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria, though, as they will be desperate to get their hands on the trophy as well and will make sure they have their shooting boots on for the occasion.
