They had a total of 22 attempts on goal with nine on target. Real Madrid had a PPDA of 24.4, which indicates that they did not press their opponents and soaked up the pressure in their half.

Leo Messi generated the highest xG of any other player on the pitch, but missed a golden chance to take the lead from the spot as his penalty was saved by Courtois.

PSG’s shot map indicates how they attempted to find the back of the net from all possible angles but were denied by Courtois for 90 minutes. They scored with their last goal attempt.

Real Madrid failed to keep a single shot on target from the three attempts they had on goal. They failed to create any significant chances inside the final third.

The xT timeline indicates that PSG dominated both halves of the game and had a rising xG throughout the game. Real Madrid did not have a single shot on target in the first half and attempted their first shot in the second half.

Marco Veratti and Leandro Paredes dominated the midfield for PSG as they attempted the most passes for the hosts.

Real Madrid struggled to keep possession of the ball, but Toni Kroos attempted the most passes for them. He made most passes to Luka Modric.

Real Madrid had a couple of high xT creation zones in the final third, which were mostly created by their midfielders. Their attackers failed to generate any xT and were ball-watching for most of the game.

Toni Kroos generated the highest xT for Real Madrid from his passes, while Luka Modric generated a high xT from his dribbles as he got into threatening positions.

PSG attempted a higher number of defensive duels on the right flank and were able to win 50% of these duels.

PSG only attempted a total of six aerial duels but were able to win two of these duels.

Marco Veratti put up a midfield masterclass as he controlled the game for PSG. He also recovered most loose balls for the Parisians and won six of his seven loose ball duels.

The Los Blancos played with a very defensive mentality which was unlike them. They attempted a total of 93 defensive duels in the game and were able to win 44.1% of these duels.

They attempted only five aerial duels and won four of these five duels.

Toni Kroos recovered most loose balls for the Los Blancos as he won all four of his attempted loose ball duels.

PSG generated a high xT from their set-pieces as Leo Messi had an xT of 0.67 from the corners he attempted.

Toni Kroos took most of the freekicks that Real Madrid won and generated an xT of 0.12 from these situations.
