The Brazilian is a different player after his time spent in Paris and is ready to return to Catalonia, based on the former Blaugrana player.
Neymar is ready to go back to Barcelona and can deal with the strain of leading the club alongside Lionel Messi, based on Rivaldo.
Speculation is building Neymar will create another play to rejoin Barcelona when the player motion interval starts, with Antoine Griezmann connected to PSG in a sensational swap move to the Brazil international.
Rivaldo – that made 256 looks for the Blaugrana across five years – believes Neymar has grown to a player who can manage the strain of leading the club alongside Messi, with recent signings like Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele failing to live up to expectations.
He also indicated the club should prioritise the signing of Neymar ahead of the other reported major target: Inter striker Lautaro Martinez.
“Though the young Argentinian is a fantastic player, I believe that just Neymar is a certain bet to maintain a spot in the starting XI side by side with Messi.
“Looking at the past couple of years we’ve seen several valuable players who did not manage to play alongside Messi – failing to perform under the expectations.
“But Neymar – such as Luis Suárez – is among the few players in the world that does not feel pressure on the pitch, constantly playing with tons of personality.
“He gets frightened and it would be a safe alternative for the club while Martinez is a young, gifted forward that perhaps in a couple of years might become a fantastic signing.
“I am a fan of his qualities and character and I know that sometimes I am liable to criticism as some Barcelona fans did not like the way Neymar chose to leave the club.
“But the reality is that he’s another player now who must be a wonderful assistance to Messi and co. in trying to win another Champions League.”
Neymar spent four years in Barcelona from 2013 to 2017, winning the Champions League, two La Liga games and three Copas del Rey prior to making the shock move to PSG.
